Grants and Bursaries
Requirements:
All grant requests must be submitted in PDF format using the official application form and must be submitted by the deadline: 4PM Friday, November 13.
Review eligibility criteria below prior to applying.
Complete ALL required information, including full mailing address. Applications missing information will not be considered for funding.
Supporting Information:
Provide enough documentation to verify the approximate cost of the products or services for which WBCF funding is requested.
This may include:

a vendor quote or estimate

online shopping-cart summary, or
-
document showing the items/cost and total cost.
DO NOT submit lengthy item-by-item documentation or send full page photos of individual products where a reasonable summary is sufficient. For purchases involving many similar items, a summary listing the general category, quantity and estimated total cost is sufficient.
WBCF may request additional information if needed.

Grant Eligibility
Funding is intended to benefit community members, community groups, schools, and non-profit societies located in, or serving area residents and the public in the West Boundary (Greenwood, Midway, Rock Creek, Bridesville, Westbridge, and Beaverdell). Grand Forks is outside of West Boundary. Grand Forks organizations that directly serve West Boundary communities may be considered on a case by case basis and prospective applicants should inquire prior to submitting an application.
Consideration will be given to West Boundary organizations involved with youth, seniors, education, minor sports, public recreation, or to local groups hosting an event that is open to the public.
Examples include, but are not limited to:

Uniforms and equipment for local sports clubs or school extracurricular activities

Community events such as fairs, parades, sporting events, arts and culture

Food banks, community Christmas dinners, or food hamper programs

Student conferences, graduation events, or educational field trips within BC

student publications: newsletters, yearbooks, resources

classroom resources such as technology, musical instruments and equipment
INELIGIBILITY: Funding will not be considered for:

Upgrades, enhancements or replacements to city- or village-owned infrastructure or capital assets
-
Operating or administrative costs, start-up fees, admin and staff salaries
-
Instructor fees or honorariums
-
Unlawful or partisan political activity
-
Religious activities, programs or purposes intended primarily to promote or advance a religious belief or doctrine

Costs incurred before approval; private profit; or projects with unmanaged conflicts or inadequate accountability
Bursary Eligibility
West Boundary Community Forest awards up to two bursaries in the amount of $3,000 each to West Boundary graduating students who plan to study in a post-secondary trades program or academic program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in the 2026-2027 school year.
